===Development===
Universal Pictures officially announced the film in June 2024 as part of its ongoing partnership with Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions. Peele described the film as a “paranoid legal nightmare” inspired by classic conspiracy thrillers like ''The Parallax View'' and ''Michael Clayton''.

===Casting===
Daniel Kaluuya, a frequent collaborator with Peele, was the first actor attached to the project in July 2024. Parris, Plemons, Stanfield, and Keough joined the cast between August and October 2024.

===Filming===
Principal photography began in December 2024 in Toronto, with additional scenes shot in New York City. Cinematography was handled by Hoyte van Hoytema, marking his first collaboration with Peele.

===Post-production===
As of June 2025, the film is in post-production, with Michael Abels composing the score.
