The '''2040 IDF World Championship''' was a professional darts tournament held from 6 to 22 January 2040 at Alexandra Palace in London, England. Organised by the International Darts Federation (IDF), it was the seventeenth edition of the tournament and the sixth to use the 16-player long-leg format.

Elias Storm entered as the reigning champion but suffered a stunning quarter-final exit to Theo Bartlett, who dominated the tournament with the highest average in IDF history across a full event (103.9). Bartlett, who had long been touted as a generational talent, fulfilled that promise by sweeping through the knockout stages without being taken to a deciding leg margin.

In the final, Bartlett defeated Liam Renshaw 36–29, closing out with a 132 checkout and three consecutive 12-dart legs to seal his third world title. Renshaw, appearing in his first final since 2033, had earlier produced a 164 checkout and an upset semi-final win over Tyler Brooks.
