While exploring South City together, Kon begins to realize that not all humans fear or hate them, especially after Alex introduces him as family to a young child he previously saved. Meanwhile, Nova uncovers evidence that the DOD is secretly preparing anti-Kryptonian contingency plans, causing Kon to lose control of his powers after learning the military views both him and Alex as potential threats. Fleeing into the Arctic, Kon confides in Alex about Krypton’s destruction before the pair discover an ancient Kryptonian scout ship buried beneath the ice. Inside, a holographic message from Jor-El reveals that Alex was sent to Earth to ensure Krypton’s survival, while Kon was sent by Kryptonians who distrusted humanity and intended for him to judge whether Earth deserved to be saved. Before the pair can process the revelation, Wells warns them that something tracked Kon’s arrival to Earth. Moments later, a massive alien vessel descends into the Arctic as the Collector finally arrives on the planet.
