Superboy is an American superhero television series developed by showrunner Freddie Goodwin for the streaming service Vesper+. Based on the DC Comics character Superboy, the series is the first television series in the Goodwinverse and follows Alex Singh, a young man whose emergence as a superpowered public figure places him at the center of public fear, government oversight, metahuman research, and the growing political response to heroes. Goodwin also serves as an executive producer, alongside Marcus Vale, Hannah Greer, David Mercer, Naomi Reyes, and Sarah Tarkoff.
The series stars Dev Patel as Alex Singh / Superboy, with Maya Hawke, Delroy Lindo, Kiersey Clemons, Rahul Kohli, Anya Chalotra, Giancarlo Esposito, Dacre Montgomery, Sophie Thatcher, Courtney B. Vance, Ming-Na Wen, and Paddy Considine appearing across the series. The supporting cast changes between seasons as the story expands from Alex's personal origin into a broader account of metahuman oversight, public testimony, scientific control, and the social cost of turning a young hero into a symbol.
The first season premiered on December 14, 2024, and concluded on February 1, 2025. The second season premiered on January 10, 2026, and concluded on February 28. The third season premiered on March 8, 2027, and concluded on April 26. The fourth and final season premiered on May 12, 2028, and concluded on June 30. All four seasons consist of eight episodes and were released weekly. Across 32 episodes, the series follows Alex's development from a frightened young metahuman into a public hero, and eventually to his decision to step away from the Superboy identity after losing his powers. Alex later appears in Iron Man and Doomsday, where his powers are restored and recontextualized within the wider Goodwinverse.
