The Horizon Eclipse and Horizon Eclipse Pro are Android-based smartphones unvieled, manufactured, released and marketed by Eggdroids as part of the Horizon phone series. The devices were revealed at the DroidFest event held in February 2025, as successors to the Horizon Solar and Solar Pro, that were released in April 2024.
The Eclipse devices were officially unveiled at a launch event, showcasing enhanced AI capabilities, a cutting-edge display, and a more refined build quality. With the Horizon Eclipse confirmed as the "Horizon 5," anticipation grew as it was marketed as featuring the most advanced technology ever seen in the Horizon series. The announcement emphasized significant performance upgrades, positioning the device as a major leap forward in both hardware innovation and user experience.
The first three phones were released in the United States on 6 March 2020 and in Europe on 13 March 2020, while the Fan Edition was released globally on 2 October 2020. The Galaxy S20 FE, S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra launch prices started at $699, $999, $1,199 and $1,399, respectively.
It is the first smartphone lineup to receive USB fast-charger certification from the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF).
