The first season of the American superhero television series, The Authorities, premiered on Netflix on October 19, 2026 and concluded on March 15, 2027, with a total of 8 episodes, after Mob Productions ordered a full season in 2022. The series is based on the Mob Comics team of the same name. The showrunner for this season is Freddie Goodwin, who wokred alongside Sara Case, Benjamin Knowles, Homer Gutierrez and Myla Salazar. The cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Brie Larson, Dave Bautista, Rami Malek, Zoë Saldana, Robert Downey Jr., Natalie Portman, and Mads Mikkelsen.

Production on the series began in June 2022 when Freddie Goodwin approached Mob Productions with an idea to adapt a comic-book storyline they published in 2016. After a agreement was made, Goodwin wrote the pilot episode in one day, followed by a week of rewrites, to which Mob Productions further agreed to budget the series, and ordered the season to have 8 episodes. Filming was mainly done in closed sets with green screens and specific locations. Filming and production concluded in June 2026.
