The Mob Cinematic Universe (MCU) films are a series of American superhero films produced by Mob Productions based on characters that appear in publications by Marvel Comics, Mob Comics, and DC Comics. The MCU is the shared universe in which all of the films are set. The films have been in production since 2019, and in that time Mob Productions have multiple films in various stages of development, currently two films are released.
Freddie Goodwin has produced every film in the series alongside Ryan Reynolds for Deadpool.
Mob Productions releases its films in groups called "Phases" which all are distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The first film is Deadpool (2024), The Flash (2024), Bart and X.S (2024), Iron Man (2025), and Z Justice (2025) belong to Phase One. Phase Two will feature The Flash and the Multiverse of the Speed Force (2025), Superman: Legacy of Hope (2026), Thor (2026) and will conclude with Harbingers (2026). Phase Three will feature Blade (2027), Harbingers: Dimension X (2027), Captain America: The First Hero (2027), Fantastic Four (2028), and will conclude with Harbingers: Endgame (2028). The first three Phases are collectively known as "The Chaos Saga".
Development
By September 2012, SOI Studios president Freddie Goodwin was in talks with Warner Bros. and Mob Productions in merging the two companies to create television and films under one brand name. The deal was delayed multiple times because of agreement differences with both presidents of the two companies. During the April 2013 public online presentation, Goodwin announced he had been working hard with the other company to come to a good deal.
In June 2016, it was pubically announced that SOI Studios would merge with Mob Productions with Goodwin retaining the role of president. In 2018, multiple leaks had revealed a Deadpool, The Flash, and Iron Man film projects. Goodwin pubically confirmed the films and stated the three films will all be part of "Phase One".
In 2020, Ryan Reynolds was announced to reprise his role as as Wade Wilson with other cast members from Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018). Goodwin stated that the film would feature different aspects of the first two films that Reynolds had made and turn the material into MA15+ material, feeling the need to create something that isn't R18+ right away.
During the development of Deadpool (2018), Goodwin confirmed that a sequel for The Flash (2024) that is planned to be released in a later phase. At the time, the film was expected to be released in the same Phase, similarly how Marvel released two Iron Man films in a single phase. Goodwin confirmed that they are developing a Iron Man film, which would lead into events that may happen in a future film.
During production on Deadpool 2 (2018), a reboot for the MCU was being planned by Mob Productions with Freddie Goodwin attached to write the screenplay. In June 2021, Ryan Reynolds was confirmed to be reprising his role as Wade Wilson/Deadpool in the film. Development on the first film was mixed with a potential second film as confirmed in June 2022. By then, Goodwin announced he has worked on every project in the MCU and will focus entirely on the future of the franchise. In December 2019, after the release of Fox's Deadpool 2, Freddie Goodwin began work on a new Deadpool franchise to have Ryan Reynolds star in which will reboot the films. In February 2020, Reynolds agreed to do the film, as long as he produced it alongside Goodwin.
In July 2023, Goodwin took the stage at SDCC to announce future projects for the MCU. He stated that Phase One would not have more films, though later announced that Fantastic Four, would release in 2025 as part of Phase One, and will set up the Doctor Doom film coming in Phase Three. Goodwin announced more films including Blade, a project related to Spider-Man, and a film adapting the Infinity War storyline from the Marvel Comics. In September 2023, Goodwin announced two films titled Infinity War Part I and Infinity War Part II, respectively for a undetermined release date.
The films that were announced in 2023's SDCC were confirmed to be part of a greater plan Goodwin confirmed, and stated they had begun developing Fantastic Four, before Deadpool and The Flash, which they originally planned to be released during Phase Two. He confirmed that the team were excited to release the film and were unsure if they should release the film as early as it is coming. Around the same time, Goodwin announced X-Men vs. The Avengers, but later cancelled the film due to issues regarding the timeline and how the films would fit in the story.
Development on a film based on the DC character the Flash began in the late 1980s when Warner Bros. Pictures hired comic book writer Jeph Loeb to write a screenplay. Warner Bros. hired David S. Goyer to write, direct, and produce a new version of The Flash in December 2004 after he impressed them with his script for Batman Begins (2005). Goyer approached Ryan Reynolds to portray Wally West / The Flash after working with him on the Marvel Comics-based film Blade: Trinity (2004) and intended to have the character Barry Allen appear in a supporting role. Goyer was influenced for the film's tone by Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy and the Flash comic book runs by Mike Baron, Mark Waid and Geoff Johns. By early February 2007, Goyer left the project over creative differences with the studio, and Shawn Levy was hired to direct and oversee the writing of a new draft written by Chris Brancato, which used elements from Goyer's script. Later that month, Warner Bros. announced the development of a Justice League film, with Michelle and Kieran Mulroney writing the screenplay. George Miller signed on to direct the film, titled Justice League: Mortal, in September, with Adam Brody cast as the Flash. It was envisioned as the start of a franchise with planned sequels and spin-offs, including the Flash film.
Levy left The Flash in October 2007 because of scheduling conflicts with Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009). David Dobkin took over as director and began developing the film as a spin-off from Justice League: Mortal, with a focus on Wally West. Craig Wright was writing a script for the film the next month, before Justice League: Mortal was canceled and Warner Bros. set a 2008 release for The Flash. Further development was delayed by the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike. Charles Roven joined the project as a producer by July 2009, with Geoff Johns consulting and writing a film treatment that Dan Mazeau adapted into a screenplay. In October, Roven said the studio was not confident enough in their take to green-light the film, though Mazeau disputed this and said the film was moving forward as planned. In June 2010, Green Lantern (2011) writers Greg Berlanti, Michael Green, and Marc Guggenheim were hired to write a new treatment for The Flash based on a recent comics run by Johns that featured Barry Allen. However, Mob Productions took matters into their own hands and made changes to the screenplay to fit into their own narrative for the MCU.
After the critical and commercial failure of the 2015 film Fantastic Four, co-written and directed by Josh Trank and based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, 20th Century Fox began looking at new directions to take the franchise. Having also produced two earlier Fantastic Four films directed by Tim Story a decade prior, the studio did not want to just make another Fantastic Four film. By June 2017, Seth Grahame-Smith was writing a new film that would shift focus to Franklin and Valeria Richards, the children of original Fantastic Four leaders Reed Richards and Sue Storm. Taking inspiration from the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic books, the screenplay included original Fantastic Four members the Thing and the Human Torch, and was described as "kid-centric" with a tone closer to The Incredibles (2004) than Trank's darker film. The basis of the screenplay came from a separate script that Carter Blanchard had adapted from the children's book Kindergarten Heroes by Mark Millar. Millar previously consulted with Fox on their Marvel-based films. In July, Noah Hawley, who had created the Marvel Television series Legion, was hired to develop a separate film focused on Doctor Doom, the Fantastic Four's primary antagonist. The Walt Disney Company officially acquired 21st Century Fox in March 2019 and gained the film rights for the Marvel Comics characters that Fox controlled, including the Fantastic Four, for its subsidiary Marvel Studios. The Marvel-based films that Fox had been developing were placed "on hold".
20th Century Fox began work on a new Fantastic Four film after the failure of Fantastic Four (2015). After the studio was acquired by Disney in March 2019, control of the franchise was transferred to Marvel Studios, and a new film was announced that July. Jon Watts was set as director in December 2020, but stepped down in April 2022. In 2022, it was announced that the film that Marvel was originally developing had been given to Mob Productions to include in the Mob Cinematic Universe. New writers Julianne Crestwood, Marcus V. Ellington, and Eliza Thornhill joined the project to rewrite the film and filming was completed in 2023. Mob Productions wanted to bring a third team into the universe to make things more interesting.
New films were announced on February 18, 2024, those films being Captain America: The First Hero and Fantastic Four which will all be part of Phase Three. Along with the film announcements, Goodwin pubically announced that the Doctor Doom film has been delayed indefinitely. In June 2024, Goodwin announced that the company was losing lots of employees' though confirmed the films and other projects that are coming won't be delayed or recieve any changes in any way.

Phase Three of the Mob Cinematic Universe (MCU) is a group of American superhero films and television series produced by Mob Productions based on characters from various publishing companies like DC Comics, Marvel Comics, and many more. Phase One features all of the Mob Productions productions set to be releasing starting in March 2024 and ending in June 2024 with monthly releases. Each release will be released on the public Facebook page. Freddie Goodwin produces every film.
The third Phase will be the conclusion to "The Chaos Saga" and will conclude the story that began with Deadpool (2024). The final film of the phase will be Harbingers: Endgame, which will release worldwide on June 20, 2025. There will be a total of eight films in the third phase. A fourth Phase has already been planned, which was confirmed in 2023 and is planned to begin in November 2025.

At any given time, Mob Productions has future films planned five to six years out from what they have announced. By April 2014, additional storylines were planned through 2028, with MCU films through 2032 being planned by April 2022. Disney has scheduled additional release dates for unannounced Mob Productions films on February 13, July 24, and November 6, 2026.
On February 21, 2024, it was confirmed a new saga had already been planned for 2025 or 2026 and would expand on what "The Chaos Saga" had already formed.
Deadpool II
Deadpool must work with a very old friend from a completely alternate universe to stop a dangerous threat from emerging in New York City.
Development on a second Deadpool film began when SOI Studios began outlining films for the scrapped "SOIverse"; and planned a sequel to 2024's Deadpool film. The film was originally planned to feature the epic conclusion to the Deadpool story-arc and lead into the universe conclusion. In 2019, after SOI Studios was aquired by Disney and merged with Mob Productions, the films development progress had already been restarted. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Freddie Goodwin remade the plan to make films focus on more than a singler character and remade the plan for the Deadpool film sequel to focus on Deadpool and a second character, though at the time didn't know which character. By July 2025, during the development of the first film, the film was reported to focus on Wolverine and would have Hugh Jackman reprise his role from the X-Men film series.
The Flash and the Multiverse of the Speed Force: The Birth of Inertia
Barry Allen must work with his son Bart Allen to stop a evil duplicate of a speedster from destroying Central City.
Prior to developing The Flash and the Multiverse of the Speed Force, Benjamin Knowles announced he had an idea for a potentail third film and expressed interest in making a third film alongside Freddie Goodwin. Knowles intended to make four films based on the character "The Flash" and wanted the third film to be released during Phase Three, however Goodwin ultimately decided to have the film release during Phase Four.
The Dangerous X-Men – Part One
The X-Men must group together to stop a dangerous threat from eliminating all the heroes in the world.
Development on a X-Men focused film was confirmed during the 2023 SDCC, which, at the time, was titled "X-Men vs. The Avengers", however, the title was soon cancelled. Shortly after though, Mob Productions secretly began early work on a new and improved X-Men film concept that would directly tie into the main storyline, something the original idea didn't do.
The Dangerous X-Men – Part Two
Following the events of Infinity War Part I, the X-Men must work with the other hero teams of the universe to stop the mad-titan.

The Chaos Saga
Over time, the first saga of films will consist a grand total of 16 films beginning with Deadpool and finishing with Harbingers: Endgame. All films will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
The first film and first installment of Phase One, Deadpool was released on February 8, 2024 to all states at the same time. The second film and second installment of Phase One, The Flash, was released on March 28, 2024. The third film and third installment of Phase One, Bart and X.S, was released on April 22, 2024. The fourth film and fourth installment of Phase One, Iron Man, is scheduled to release on May 19, 2024. The fifth film and fifth and final installment of Phase One, Justice Z, is scheduled to be released on June 10, 2019.
The sixth film and first installment of Phase Two, The Flash and the Multiverse of the Speed Force, is scheduled to be released on July 28, 2024, the seventh film and second installment of Phase Two, Superman: Legacy of Hope, is scheduled to be released on August 25, 2024. The eighth film and third installment of Phase Two, Thor, is schduled to be released on September 10, 2024. The ninth film and fourth and final installment of Phase Two, Harbingers, is scheduled to be released on October 19, 2024.

The first film Deadpool became available to buy on blu-ray and digital on April 2, 2024. The Flash was released on digital on May 8, 2024. Bart and X.S will become available to buy on digital in June 2024 with Iron Man to follow in July 2024.

Accolades and critism
The films of the Mob Cinematic Universe have been nominated for numerous awards. However, it has caused the creation of hundreds of memes. The franchise has been given negative reviews for being too much like the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
