Casting

In early 2022, it was announced that Russel Crowe had been cast as Dorian Kane. Crowe was stated to have been one of the toughest choices to cast as they wanted a actor who both can be scary and caring, and be able to switch between the two insanely easily. Charlie Hunnam had joinde the cast in a unannounced role.

Filming

Principal photography began on June 10, 2022, at Mob Productions' main studios in the United States and across New York City. Unlike some sets, the set of Monster: The Dorian Kane Story included therapists and mental health professionals. Filming lasted until September 2022, whilst reshoots occured until May 2023.
