Development on the video game was confirmed to have begun by June 2019 upon the game's announcement. The game was expected to be released in 2020. However, it was delayed until May 2022 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Alpha Legends officially was released on May 26, 2022 to positive reviews. Some critics criticized the lack of content at launch and bugs.
