Spider-Man: Spider-Verse: Miles is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales. Produced by Mob Productions and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film is the second installment in Mob Productions’ standalone Spider-Man film franchise, following Spider-Man: Shadow of the City (2026) and preceding Spider-Man: No Safe Ground (2029). Premise
Set in the aftermath of Shadow of the City, the film follows Miles Morales, a Brooklyn teenager whose life is irrevocably altered when he becomes entangled in the expanding consequences of Spider-Man’s war on organized crime. As New York City grows more hostile to masked vigilantes, Miles is drawn into Peter Parker’s increasingly fractured world, where heroism carries social, legal, and personal costs.
Rather than inheriting the Spider-Man mantle, Miles is forced to define his own identity under its shadow. The film explores parallel paths of responsibility, focusing on how two individuals shaped by the same symbol respond differently to fear, pressure, and moral compromise.

Following the completion of Spider-Man: Shadow of the City, Mob Productions confirmed plans to continue the story as a character-focused franchise rather than a single-film project. Studio president Freddie Goodwin stated that the second film was designed to expand the narrative laterally, introducing Miles Morales as a co-lead rather than escalating toward larger spectacle.
Development began in early 2025, with the project positioned as a thematic bridge between the grounded crime focus of Shadow of the City and the increasingly oppressive tone planned for No Safe Ground. The creative mandate emphasized consequence, perception, and generational contrast, using Miles as a lens through which to examine the impact of Spider-Man’s presence on those outside the mask.
Filming
Principal photography is scheduled to begin in September 2026. Filming is expected to take place primarily in New York City, with additional soundstage work planned for controlled interior sequences.
