Spider-Verse: Miles is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales. Produced by Mob Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film is a part of the Mob Cinematic Universe (MCU) and serves as the first installment in a planned trilogy centered around Miles. Caleb McLaughlin stars in the title role, alongside Zendaya and Giancarlo Esposito. The film is scheduled to be released on December 15, 2028.

Premise

Miles Morales, a Brooklyn teenager with a genius intellect and artistic spirit, is thrust into a multidimensional conflict when he discovers that his universe is one of many threatened by instability in the web of reality. As new threats emerge from across the Spider-Verse, Miles must step into the shoes of a true Spider-Man—not just to save his world, but all of them.

Development

Following the success of the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse franchise and the conclusion of the Tom Holland-led Spider-Man trilogy, Mob Studios sought to introduce Miles Morales into their live-action universe. The project was formally announced in December 2024, during a slate presentation led by Freddie Goodwin and Marcus V. Lane, with Spider-Verse: Miles positioned as a flagship film in the franchise's upcoming phase.

Casting began in early 2025, with Caleb McLaughlin emerging as the top choice for Miles. The film is intended to introduce a grounded, character-focused take on Miles, while still embracing multiversal elements hinted at in prior Mob Studios projects.

Filming

Principal photography is expected to begin in late 2025 or early 2026, primarily in New York City and Atlanta, under the working title Brooklyn Pulse.

Release

Spider-Verse: Miles is scheduled for release in the United States on December 15, 2028, as part of Phase Two of the MCU.
