Superboy is an upcoming American superhero drama television series developed by Freddie Goodwin for Netflix. Created by Alex Brow, it stars Neel Sethi as Alex Singh, a young man who becomes known as Superboy after discovering that he possesses extraordinary abilities.
The series follows Singh as he attempts to protect his city while learning the truth behind his powers, his origin, and the forces seeking to control him. The first season consists of eight episodes and is scheduled to premiere on October 2, 2026 and will run until November 20, 2026.
Premise
Alex Singh is a young man living in a city increasingly shaped by crime, corruption, and unexplained threats. After a life-changing incident reveals that he possesses superhuman abilities, Singh is forced to confront the possibility that his identity and past are far more complicated than he had believed. As his powers grow, he becomes the focus of public attention, government interest, and enemies who view him as either a weapon or a danger.
The series explores Singh's transformation into Superboy as he struggles with responsibility, secrecy, family, and the moral weight of becoming a public hero. Rather than beginning as an established figure, Singh is portrayed as someone still learning what heroism means and whether he is capable of carrying the symbol others begin to place on him.

Production
Conception
Superboy was conceived as a character-driven superhero drama centered on legacy, identity, and responsibility. The series was developed as a new interpretation of the Superboy concept, focusing on Alex Singh as an original version of the character rather than a direct adaptation of a single comic storyline. The creative direction emphasized a grounded emotional arc, with Singh's abilities serving as both a source of wonder and conflict.
Alex Brow created the series and helped shape its central themes, while Freddie Goodwin developed the project for television. The series was designed to introduce Singh as a young hero at the beginning of his journey, allowing the first season to focus on discovery, fear, public scrutiny, and the gradual acceptance of responsibility.
Development
Development on the series began with Elridge House Productions and Blackveil Studios exploring a superhero drama that could combine large-scale comic book mythology with a more personal coming-of-age structure. Goodwin was brought on to develop the series, with Elridge, Jordan Brackley, Samira Collins, and Devon Kaye serving as executive producers.
The first season was planned as an eight-episode story.
