Cheer: The Twenty-Twenty Two Story is the first season of the American drama television series Cheer, created by Jack Leonard and Freddie Goodwin for Netflix. This season centers on the 1990s murders throughout Alex Singh's high school years.
As part of a deal, Goodwin became interested in teaching new film makers. Leonard, who was interested in telling a story based on real people approached Goodwin on making a television series for Netflix and requested he help develop the first season and he continue with a second, that is if the series was renewed for any future seasons.
Cheer: The Twenty-Twenty Two Story was announced in June 2023 and is scheduled to be released on June 10, 2026.
