School Warrior is an American television series based on content originally created by Freddie Goodwin. Produced by Mob Productions and Freddie Goodwin, it is intended to be the first series to be set in the upcoming Warriorverse. Goodwin serves as the lead showrunner.

Asa Butterfield and Hailee Steinfeld respectively star as Miles Porter / Velocity and Kendra Vale in the series,[1] alongside Noah Jupe and Emma Myers, who would portray Jason, and Emily, respectively.[2] Goodwin began developing a series based on a meta-human superhero with super-speed.[3] Due to copyright issues, Goodwin couldn't adapt any characters from DC Comics or Marvel Comics, so he decided to make characters that are somewhat inspired by them.[4] Filming took place from April 2024 and concluded in August 2024.[5]
The first season was announced in June 2022 and premiered on December 14, 2024 and will consist of 10 episodes. The first season is set to conclude on February 22, 2025. The series was renewed for a second season in March 2025.

Production
Background
In 2018, the initial outline for the story was developed by Freddie Goodwin during his high school years, heavily influenced by DC Comics. These early plans evolved over the following year, and by December 2019, Goodwin began creating original characters for the narrative, starting with Miles Porter, a character inspired by The Flash. In 2020, development on a series adaptation commenced, initially envisioned as an eight-episode, single-season project designed to tell a self-contained story.
When developing Miles Porter, Freddie Goodwin emphasized the importance of ensuring the character was not merely a direct imitation of The Flash but instead rooted in his own original material. In interviews conducted throughout 2021 and 2022, Goodwin explained that he designed Miles as a character with a grounded history and a relatable narrative. While not entirely based on DC Comics, Goodwin noted that he found a "unique way" to connect Miles to The Flash, blending inspiration with originality to create a distinct character within his story.
Development
In 2021, series showrunner Freddie Goodwin revealed his plans to develop a superhero series inspired by the DC Comics character The Flash.[25] However, he noted that due to licensing restrictions, he could not directly incorporate elements from the comics, aside from allowing characters to reference certain names.[26] Around the same time, series star Asa Butterfield disclosed that discussions about renewing the series for a second and third season had taken place but were temporarily put on hold to prioritize the completion of the first season.[27] Butterfield signed a one-year contract for 10 episodes, earning a reported $120,000 per episode for his role.[28]
Writing
Discussing the events of the first season, Goodwin described the hero, Miles Porter, as a character distinct from traditional superheroes, emphasizing his relatable and grounded past, which many viewers may find familiar.[29] Goodwin also teased the season’s villain, describing them as "terrifying" and capable of pushing Miles to his absolute limits.[30] Additionally, Goodwin hinted that the eighth episode would take a unique approach by centering entirely on the villain, making it the only episode in the season to exclude the traditional main cast.[31]
Filming
Filming began on April 14, 2024,[32] and concluded on August 6, 2024.[33]
Release
The first season premiered on December 14, 2024.[34][35] The first season will conclude on February 22, 2025.[36] The second season is scheduled to be released on May 10, 2025.
Warriorverse
The Warriorverse was an original concept that Mob Productions had whilst making School Warrior and other unannounced projects. On December 1, 2024, it was announced that Goodwin would begin early work on a second series based on the Marvel Comics character Tony Stark / Iron Man.[37] On December 8, it was announced that the series Iron Man would premiere at some point in 2025 and the first season would consist of 15 episodes.[38] However, the series would soon be cancelled on December 15, 2024.
Throughout December, Goodwin has stated in various interviews that he intends on making each series feel unique and plans on only connecting the universe through unique "crossover" events in the form of a miniseries.[39] The first crossover called "Velocity x Iron Man", will consist of 5 episodes and be released at some point in Fall 2025.[40] Due to budget cuts and a change of CEO at Mob Productions, School Warrior was cancelled. However, Goodwin managed to make a deal to have a 6 episode final season to end the story.
