The IDF World Darts Championship is a world championship competition held annually in the sport of darts. The championship begins in December and ends in January and has been held at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, South Australia, since 2023. Organised by the International Darts Federation (IDF), it is the most prestigious of their tournaments, with the winner receiving the IDF Worlds Trophy.
The IDF championship began in 2023 when the team behind the PDC wanted to allow players to join into a world-based championship that is hosted in Australia each year.
Since its inception in 2023, the IDF World Championship has crowned nine different champions. Ethan Steel has dominated the competition with 18 titles from 39 appearances, solidifying his status as the greatest player of all time. Steel’s reign began in 2026 and continued almost uninterrupted until 2066, with his most recent victory coming in 2066. Other multiple-time winners include Max Mad with 8 titles (2023, 2024, 2028, 2030, 2032, 2033, 2044, 2048) and Logan White, who burst onto the scene as a 14-year-old prodigy and won back-to-back titles in 2067 and 2068. Luke Littler secured two titles (2025 & 2027) during his peak, showcasing his exceptional talent and competitive spirit. The list of one-time winners includes Ryan Caldwell (2047), Josh Rock (2053), Daniel Hayes (2060), and Alex Harper (2061), each of whom etched their names into the history books with memorable and hard-fought victories.
