The 2078 IDF World Championship was a professional darts tournament organized by the International Darts Federation (IDF), held at the historic Alexandra Palace in London from 14–17 January 2078. It was the 56th edition of the championship and featured 16 of the world’s top players, all of whom qualified through the IDF Order of Merit.

Defending champion Ethan Steel entered the tournament under difficult circumstances, having suffered a serious hand injury between the previous event and this one. The injury severely impacted his performance, leading to his earliest-ever exit at the IDF World Championship. Steel lost 3–0 to Alex Brow in the first round, struggling with scoring and finishing due to his impaired grip and release. This marked the end of his record-breaking run of consecutive semi-final appearances, raising questions about his future in the sport.

Logan White capitalized on the opportunity, delivering a masterclass in scoring and finishing. He secured his 5th world title with a 6–4 victory over Daniel Hayes in the final. White also hit a nine-dart finish in the quarter-finals, confirming his return to top form and cementing his legacy as one of the greatest players of his generation.
