Elias Storm (born 21 February 1999) is an American professional darts player who currently competes in ODF (Open Darts Federation) events. Widely regarded as one of the most naturally gifted players of his generation, Storm is known for his fast throw, icy demeanor, and ruthless finishing power. He has won two World Championships, including a dominant run in 2025 where he dropped just three sets across the entire tournament.

Early life

Storm was born in Chicago, Illinois. He began playing darts competitively at local pubs from the age of 13, inspired by his father's league success. By 16, he was already defeating regional professionals and drawing attention online for his high averages and unique composure.

Career

Rise to prominence (2018–2022)

Storm qualified for his first televised major in 2018 at the age of 19, reaching the second round of the ODF Grand Slam. Though still raw, his high scoring ability and rhythm drew comparisons to greats like Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen.

Between 2019 and 2022, Storm consistently climbed the ODF Order of Merit, breaking into the Top 16 by the end of 2022 after reaching the semifinals of the ODF Matchplay and several other deep runs.

Breakthrough and dominance (2023–2025)

Storm captured his first major title at the 2023 ODF World Championship, defeating Logan White 7–5 in a high-quality final. He followed up with a victory at the 2023 ODF Grand Prix, cementing his place in the elite tier.

In 2024, Storm topped the inaugural ODF Premier League regular season and went on to win the playoffs, defeating Alex Brow 18–12 in the final.

Storm’s most dominant season came in 2025. He reclaimed the World Championship with a near-flawless campaign and partnered with Max Mad to win the ODF World Cup of Darts. He spent a record 42 consecutive weeks ranked as World No. 1 that year.

Playing style

Storm is known for:

  • A blistering scoring pace, often opening legs with back-to-back 140s.
  • A calm, emotionless stage presence, earning him the nickname "The Cyclone."
  • An elite checkout percentage, especially under pressure.
  • Frequent use of the 18s and 10s in setup play, uncommon among modern players.

Equipment

Storm plays with his custom 24g Target Storm Signature Darts, a hybrid pixel-ring grip design. He typically uses slim black flights and a short nylon stem for compact aerodynamics.
