The Fine Print is an upcoming American psychological thriller television series developed by Alex Brow for Peacock. Based on the Fine Print franchise, the series serves as a spiritual reboot and reimagining of the films, focusing on the origins of the memory control program known as "Clausewave." The show blends elements of bureaucratic horror, legal surrealism, and metaphysical mystery.
The series is produced by Nightshade Studios and Monkeypaw Productions, with Brow returning as showrunner and executive producer. It marks the first television installment of the franchise and aims to expand upon the lore introduced in the films while exploring new characters entangled in psychological contracts and state-engineered identities.
Premise
Set in an alternate 2023, the series follows a low-level government analyst who stumbles upon a series of confidential memory manipulation orders buried within legal archives. As they attempt to expose the truth, they’re pulled into a layered world of recursive contracts, false authorship, and institutional mind fragmentation, where nothing — including their own identity — can be trusted.

Development
The series was announced in mid-2048 following the conclusion of The Fine Print 사: RECLASSIFIED (2047), the final entry in the film franchise. Series creator Alex Brow stated that the show would allow him to "start from scratch" and dive deeper into the mythos of contractual memory engineering that the films had only briefly touched upon. According to Brow, the tone will retain the surrealism and paranoia of the films but shift toward serialized storytelling, allowing more time to build out psychological and philosophical themes.
Unlike the movies, which leaned on large-scale visuals and fragmented timelines, the series will take a more grounded, character-driven approach, with a mystery-unfolding narrative told over multiple episodes.
Casting
Casting had reportedly begun by early 2049, with Brow confirming in interviews that the show would feature a mix of newcomers and returning actors from the film series in reimagined roles.
Filming
Principal photography for the first season began in late 2049 in Vancouver, Canada, with additional locations including Seattle and Los Angeles.
Release
The series is set to premiere exclusively on Peacock in the United States. International distribution will be handled by Universal Television, with select territories receiving weekly episode rollouts.
