Dark Pursuit is an upcoming American crime drama television miniseries created by Jane Holloway for HBO. Loosely inspired by real unsolved cases and investigative accounts, the series blends fact and fiction to explore the psychology of violent offenders and the investigators who pursue them. It is planned to consist of six episodes and is directed by Lena Ortega. The project was announced in September 2025.

Premise

Set during the late 1980s, the series follows federal investigators and journalists as they attempt to identify and track a network of violent offenders across multiple states. Each episode will focus on a different case while a central antagonist emerges as the season's overarching villain.

Production

On September 15, 2025, HBO announced that it had ordered a six-episode crime drama miniseries titled Dark Pursuit. Jane Holloway serves as the creator and head writer, while Lena Ortega is attached to direct all episodes. The series is being produced by Horizon Television Studios in association with Warner Bros. Television. Further details, including casting, are expected to be announced at a later date.
