Daniel James Myles (born 16 April 1998) is an English professional darts player who competes in events organised by the International Darts Federation (IDF). Known by his nickname "The Cobra", Myles is recognised for his quick throwing rhythm and high finishing accuracy. He won the 2028 IDF World Championship, defeating Theo Bartlett 7–5 in the final to become world champion.

Early life[edit | edit source]

Myles was born and raised in Bristol, England. He began playing darts at the age of eleven, inspired by televised matches of Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld. After competing in local leagues and youth tournaments, he joined the national development circuit in 2015 and turned professional two years later.

Career[edit | edit source]

Early career[edit | edit source]

Myles debuted on the IDF Tour in 2017, reaching his first quarter-final at the 2019 Melbourne Slam. His aggressive scoring and confident stage presence made him a crowd favourite, and he climbed into the top 32 of the Order of Merit by the end of the 2020 season.

Rise to prominence[edit | edit source]

In 2023, Myles reached his first televised semi-final at the Sydney Masters, narrowly losing to Elias Storm 10–9. His breakthrough came the following year when he won the European Open Darts Championship in Hamburg, defeating Logan White in the final. The victory propelled him into the top ten of the world rankings.

World Championship success[edit | edit source]

At the 2028 IDF World Darts Championship, Myles produced a string of dominant performances, including wins over Zane Holloway and Connor Reed, before overcoming Theo Bartlett in a high-quality final to claim his first world title. The victory elevated him to world No. 2 and earned him a nomination for IDF Player of the Year.

Later career[edit | edit source]

Myles continued his strong form throughout 2029, reaching finals in the Hobart Throwdown and Perth Masters, and securing a spot in the 2030 Premier League.

Playing style[edit | edit source]

Myles is noted for his compact throwing action and methodical setup. His scoring power with the treble 20 and precise checkouts under pressure have drawn comparisons to former champions such as Michael van Gerwen. He typically uses 23-gram Winmau darts with a short stem and slim flights.

Personal life[edit | edit source]

Outside of darts, Myles is an ambassador for junior sports in Bristol and has spoken publicly about the importance of mental health awareness in competitive sports. He supports Bristol City F.C. and lives with his partner Emily and their dog, Luna.
