The 2026 International Darts Open is an upcoming professional darts tournament organised by the International Darts Federation (IDF). The event was officially announced on 3 March 2026 and is scheduled to take place from 12 to 21 June 2026.

The tournament will be held under IDF sanction and will form part of the 2026 IDF darts season. Apex Energy was confirmed as the tournament’s title sponsor, marking the company’s debut involvement in a major international darts event. The event will feature a 128-player knockout field competing for ranking points and prize money contributing to the IDF Order of Merit.[1][2]

Venue

On 10 March 2026, the International Darts Federation confirmed that the tournament will be held at Alexandra Palace in London, England.[3]

Alexandra Palace is an established venue in professional darts and was selected due to its seating capacity, broadcast infrastructure, and history of hosting major international sporting events. The 2026 International Darts Open will mark the first time the venue has hosted this tournament.

Format

On 1 April 2026, the IDF confirmed the tournament format and match structure.[4]

All matches will be played as games of 501 using a set format. Early-round matches will be played over shorter distances, with match lengths increasing as the tournament progresses. The final will be contested over a best-of-11-sets format. All matches must be won by finishing on a double.

Prize money

The total prize fund for the tournament was confirmed on 1 April 2026 as $2,500,000, with all prize money counting toward the IDF Order of Merit.[5]

The tournament winner will receive $500,000, with remaining prize money distributed across the field based on finishing position. A detailed prize breakdown is expected to be published closer to the start of the event.

Players

The tournament will feature a 128-player knockout field, consisting of seeded players from the IDF Order of Merit alongside international and regional qualifiers.[6]

Further details regarding qualification pathways and seeding criteria are expected to be announced in subsequent updates.
