Plot

While his reflection remains standing and watching, Gary vanishes without a trace, leaving only emptiness behind.

By morning, police tape surrounds the storefront where Gary disappeared. There is no blood and no sign of a struggle, only his wallet left behind, prompting townspeople to whisper that it has happened “again.” At the sheriff’s office, Rowan Hale studies Gary’s photograph alongside details of Thomas Kerr’s disappearance, as Elaine Carter confirms that what is happening is not a pattern but a response. When Hale presses her for what is being answered, Elaine refuses to say, underscoring that the events are tied to something the town has collectively buried.

At Northpoint High School, the growing threat becomes impossible to ignore. Claire senses that whatever is responsible has drawn closer, explaining that it was once only listening but now knows where people live.
