Deadpool: The Circle Chase is an upcoming American fan-made superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Deadpool. Written, directed, produced, and edited by Alex Brow, the film is independently produced by Mob Productions. It serves as an unofficial continuation of the Deadpool film series, taking place after the events of Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) while continuing several characters introduced in Deadpool 2 (2018).

The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Logan / Wolverine, alongside Morena Baccarin, Josh Brolin, Jack Kesy, Aaron W. Reed, Karan Soni, Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, Stefan Kapičić, Leslie Uggams, and Rob Delaney.

Brow began developing the film as his own interpretation of a fourth Deadpool installment following the completion of Deadpool & Wolverine. He intended the project to return to the comedy and supporting characters of the earlier films while continuing Wade's friendship with Logan. Baccarin was confirmed to be reprising her role as Vanessa Carlysle in August 2026.

Deadpool: The Circle Chase is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 1, 2026.

Premise

One year after the events of Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), Wade Wilson / Deadpool and Logan are drawn into an international chase involving a mysterious artifact connected to Weapon X, bringing them together with Vanessa Carlysle, Cable, and the X-Men against Black Tom Cassidy, Juggernaut, and cybernetic mercenary Garrison Kane.

Cast and characters

• Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool:
  A wisecracking mercenary from Earth-10005 who possesses accelerated healing abilities but has severe scarring across his body after undergoing an experimental regenerative treatment for terminal cancer. Brow said that the film would make greater use of Wade's fourth-wall-breaking comedy while retaining the traditional "superhero versus villain" structure he envisioned when he began writing the screenplay. He described this version of Wade as "much different" from his characterization in the previous three films.

• Hugh Jackman as Logan / Wolverine:
  A mutant and former member of the X-Men who possesses accelerated healing abilities, retractable claws, and an adamantium-infused skeleton. This version of Logan originates from an alternate universe whose inhabitants he believes he failed before becoming stranded on Earth-10005. Brow initially did not intend for Logan to return following Deadpool & Wolverine, but later felt that his inclusion would allow Wade and Logan's friendship to be developed further. He clarified that Logan is a supporting character rather than a co-lead.

• Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle:
  Wade's partner, with whom he is attempting to rebuild his relationship. Brow said that Vanessa would have a larger role than in the previous two films and would be more directly involved in the central story.

• Josh Brolin as Cable:
  A cybernetically enhanced soldier from the future and former member of X-Force who previously traveled into the past to prevent the deaths of his wife and daughter. The film marks Brolin's first appearance as Cable since Deadpool 2.

• Jack Kesy as Black Tom Cassidy:
  An Irish mutant and former prisoner of the Ice Box who possesses the ability to manipulate wood and plant life. Kesy reprises his role from Deadpool 2, in which the character had a minor supporting appearance. Brow described Black Tom as the film's primary antagonist and said that his limited role in the earlier film allowed him to develop a new interpretation of the character.

• Aaron W. Reed as Cain Marko / Juggernaut:
  A physically powerful mutant and ally of Black Tom. Reed reprises the role after physically portraying the character in Deadpool & Wolverine. Brow said that the friendship between Juggernaut and Black Tom would be an important part of the film.

Also reprising their roles from the previous Deadpool films are Karan Soni as Dopinder, a former taxi driver and admirer of Wade; Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, a young member of the X-Men capable of generating explosive atomic bursts; Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, Negasonic's girlfriend and a fellow X-Men member; and Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Piotr Rasputin / Colossus, a metal-skinned member of the X-Men. Leslie Uggams returns as Blind Al, Wade's blind elderly roommate, while Rob Delaney reprises his role as Peter, an ordinary human and surviving member of Wade's former X-Force team.

The film also features Theresa "Siryn" Cassidy, a mutant with sonic abilities and a connection to Black Tom; Garrison Kane, a cybernetically enhanced mercenary associated with Weapon X; and Dogpool, Wade's canine counterpart from another universe. The actors portraying Siryn and Kane had not been announced.

Production

Background

Following the completion of Deadpool & Wolverine, Brow began considering how Wade's story could continue without repeating that film's multiversal premise or its equal focus on Deadpool and Wolverine. He wanted the next installment to return to the comedy, supporting characters, and more personal storytelling of the first two Deadpool films while retaining Logan as part of Wade's life. Brow independently developed the project through Mob Productions as his own fan-made continuation of the series and was not working under the direction of Marvel Studios, Disney, or the producers of the official films.

Development

Brow wrote, directed, produced, and edited the film through Mob Productions, retaining creative control over its story and tone. He described the project as the Deadpool film he personally wanted to make, combining the action comedy of the earlier installments with a more conventional conflict between a superhero and a central villain. The title, The Circle Chase, refers to the international pursuit at the center of the film and the mysterious circular artifact sought by several of its characters.

Black Tom Cassidy was selected as the primary antagonist after Brow revisited Kesy's limited appearance in Deadpool 2. Brow believed that the character had not been substantially explored in the earlier film and could therefore be expanded without repeating an established storyline. Garrison Kane was included as a separate antagonist connected to Weapon X, allowing the film's central chase to involve several competing groups. Brow also intended the film to move through a range of international settings while maintaining the violent action and comedy associated with the series.

Writing

Brow wrote the screenplay as a character-focused continuation of Wade's life following Deadpool & Wolverine. The story centers on Wade attempting to build a more stable life while becoming involved in a new conflict linked to his past. Brow wanted the film to remain primarily comedic, with Wade's fourth-wall-breaking abilities being used more frequently than in the previous installments. Vanessa was given a larger role in the story, while Logan was written as a major supporting character rather than a second lead.

Cable's role was expanded during revisions to the screenplay after having initially been absent from the main ensemble. Brow felt that bringing Cable back would strengthen the film's connections to Deadpool 2 and allow several unresolved elements from that film to be continued. Black Tom and Juggernaut were written as close allies, while the X-Men supporting characters were included to maintain the ensemble established across the previous films.

Brow also expanded the film's metafictional comedy beyond Wade directly addressing the audience. He said that the fourth-wall-breaking elements would be incorporated into the story itself while continuing to function primarily as comedy. The screenplay was completed as a first draft before Brow produced a revised second draft that expanded several characters and action sequences.

Marketing

The film's early marketing campaign began with the release of its official logo. The design retained the red, white, and black color scheme associated with Deadpool while emphasizing the circular imagery of the title. An early synopsis described Wade and Logan becoming involved in an international pursuit surrounding a mysterious artifact connected to Weapon X.
