The first season (also known as Death Awakening) of the Blood Pact television series based on the video game Minecraft is directed by Alex Brow, and produced by Mob Productions for the streaming service Netflix. The season was released on June 10, 2025 and consisted of 16 episodes.

Development on the series began in 2017 when Brow intended on making a mini-series in the form of a "saga", though wanted to make a full season type of story. Brow looked at

On August 6, 2025, Brow confirmed that the series had been renewed for a second season. The second season is schedulde to be released in 2027.

In the era known as the Ancient Times, a mysterious figure with glowing white eyes attacked a village, killing its inhabitants to steal a powerful sword, but was later imprisoned during a war by a group of piglins. In the present day, Steve Stonecutter and Kael Draven continue expanding their influence in Diamond Hill City before travelling to New Vine City, where they meet an agent named Derp and learn of the Good Justice Society (GJS). During a mission, the team is attacked by a shadowy figure identifying itself as Null, who kills the Task Force, forcing Steve into action. After confronting Null, who vanishes, Steve warns Derp and the GJS to exercise extreme caution. Kael later asks his girlfriend, Aria Veyra, to assist him on a task, but she breaks up with him, feeling neglected. Null reappears, planting a nuclear device in Block World and demanding Steve, Kael, and Derp surrender and grant him ultimate power; the heroes refuse, battling Null while Derp defuses the bomb. Following Null’s escape, Derp experiences a vision of a place marked “Hypixel,” where a figure stands among other powerful beings. Meanwhile, Null meets with his ally, Entity 303, and vows to work to bring "him" back.

Cast and characters

• Henry Cavill as Kael Draven: A brooding warrior marked by a centuries-old curse that binds him to a pact of blood. Skilled in close combat and strategic warfare, but haunted by visions of past lives.
• Ana de Armas as Aria Veyra: A mysterious wanderer with ties to an ancient order tasked with enforcing the Blood Pact. Agile, deadly, and highly intelligent, she hides a tragic connection to Kael’s past.
• Idris Elba as Darius Holt: A battle-hardened general turned mercenary. Pragmatic and ruthless, but his moral compass still flickers. Acts as both ally and foil to Kael.
• Jessica Barden as Selene Kaithra: A cunning street thief who becomes an unwilling part of the pact after stealing a cursed relic. Sharp-tongued and resourceful.

The primary antagonist of Season 1 — a powerful sorcerer seeking to shatter the Blood Pact and claim its power for himself. Cold, articulate, and manipulative.

6. Talin Marr – Ben Barnes

A charming but morally ambiguous assassin-for-hire who works for multiple factions, including Veylor. His loyalties shift with the tides.

7. Eira Solvine – Florence Pugh

A young healer whose bloodline is directly tied to the origin of the pact. Her powers are vital to keeping Kael alive, but she fears what the magic could become.
