The 2066 IDF World Championship was a professional darts tournament organized by the International Darts Federation (IDF), held at the iconic Alexandra Palace in London from 14–17 January 2066. It was the 44th edition of the championship, featuring 16 of the world’s top players who qualified through the IDF Order of Merit
Ethan Steel, the 18-time world champion, entered the tournament chasing his record-extending 18th world title. Steel delivered a masterclass in dominance, setting new records for scoring and consistency. In the final, he defeated Ryan Caldwell 11–3 with an average of 120.11, the highest ever recorded in a World Championship final. Steel’s performance included two 9-dart finishes and four 170 checkouts, further solidifying his status as the greatest player of all time.
