Combat Fighter 2 is a 1982 fighter game developed and published by Monsteristic. It is the second main installment in the Combat Fighter series. The game was released on worldwide available to be played on all platforms available at the time on August 19, 1982.

Combat Fighter 2 features basic battle mechanics and focuses on bug-free gameplay. The game recieved negative reviews from critics who disliked the adjusted gameplay and lack of content at launch. A sequel, Combat Fighter: Ultimate Fight, was released in September 2002.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

The gameplay system of Combat Fighter 2 is an improved version of that from the original Combat Fighter. There are several changes in standard moves: a crouching punch was added, low and high kicks have greater damage output when done in combo, and quicker movement. Returning characters also gained new special moves, including some to be used in mid-air, and the game plays almost twice as fast as the original.

As with its predecessor, matches are divided into rounds, and the first player to win two rounds by fully depleting their opponent's life bar is the winner; at this point, the losing character will become dazed and the winner is given the opportunity of using a finishing move. Combat Fighter 2 lacks the "Test Your Might" bonus games and point system from the first game, in favor of a consecutive win tally where wins are represented by icons.
