In the wake of escalating cosmic anomalies and the resurgence of ancient energies tied to the Phantom Zone, the Green Lantern Corps faces its greatest existential crisis. On the edge of Guardian-controlled space, the lost sector of Dominion—once sealed by decree of the Guardians—is breached by an unknown force, releasing corrupted light that fractures the emotional spectrum itself.
Hal Jordan, veteran Lantern and Earth’s first Corps member, investigates a series of disappearances tied to the sector’s reawakening. Meanwhile, John Stewart, a former Marine grappling with the trauma of Earthbound war and alien disillusionment, is chosen by a dying Lantern to wield a new ring forged in secret. As Stewart is brought to Oa for orientation, he is caught between a fading institution and a growing insurgency of Lanterns disillusioned by the Guardians’ silence.
Amanda Waller, acting under independent mandate from Earth’s defense council, launches a covert task force to recover fragments of Dominion technology, believing it could serve as a deterrent against future Kryptonian or godlike threats. Her operatives clash with Lantern protocols, forcing Hal and Stewart to choose between universal law and planetary autonomy.
As the Dominion force reveals itself to be sentient—a former Guardian who broke with the others over the suppression of fear, rage, and compassion-based lights—Stewart begins to unlock a hybrid spectrum, uniting conflicting emotions into a new, dangerous source of will. Hal, increasingly conflicted by the Corps’ failures, mentors Stewart while grappling with his own fading light.
In the final act, Oa falls under siege by a Dominion-empowered Lantern insurgency, led by a rogue Lantern who believes the universe must evolve beyond the Guardians. Hal and Stewart mount a defense alongside surviving Lanterns, with Stewart forging a new oath and channeling a full-spectrum construct to imprison Dominion energy inside the Source Vault. Hal sacrifices his ring to contain the explosion, rendering him powerless but alive.
As the galaxy stabilizes, Stewart is named the first Warden Lantern—charged with patrolling multiversal threats and uniting fractured Corps traditions. On Earth, Waller receives decrypted files from Dominion technology, pointing to an ancient war between the Guardians and the Phantom Zone architects—hinting that the Corps’ greatest enemy is yet to return.
In a mid-credits scene, a scarred Lantern ring hovers above Earth’s orbit before shooting off toward Sector 2814—seeking its next bearer. In the post-credits, Amanda Waller meets with a shadowy figure (revealed to be the Monitor), discussing a shared interest in preventing the “collapse of all continuities.”

The film was envisioned as a spiritual and political space epic exploring the mythos of the Green Lantern Corps in a post-traumatic galaxy. Gareth Evans, known for his action work on The Raid, was chosen to direct. Joe Tracz was hired to pen the screenplay, bringing a blend of cosmic lore and grounded character drama.

Pre-production began in early 2027, with concept art showcasing the Dominion armory, Lantern citadels, and war-torn cosmic frontiers. Aldis Hodge reprised his role from a previous cameo, while Callum Turner returned from The Brave and the Bold to continue Hal Jordan’s storyline. The ensemble was rounded out by an intergalactic cast designed to show the diversity of the Corps.
