| A covert AEGIS convoy carrying a Cybertronian navigation core is attacked by the Decepticon Barricade, who steals the device after it contacts another signal near Phoenix. Mechanic Jake Mercer buys a damaged 1977 Camaro and grows suspicious when the vehicle repairs itself and begins acting independently. After following it to a freight yard, Jake discovers that the Camaro is Bumblebee, an Autobot scout with a damaged voice system. Barricade tracks Bumblebee and attacks, leading to a chase across Phoenix as Jake, his sister Maddie, and uncle Ray become involved. AEGIS, led by Colonel Mara Vance and Captain Daniel Reyes, attempts to intervene, but Barricade overwhelms them and seriously injures Bumblebee. Optimus Prime arrives and defeats Barricade, though he allows him to escape to protect Bumblebee. At an AEGIS airfield, Optimus reveals that Bumblebee was sent to locate a Cybertronian navigation archive and carries coordinates leading to Megatron's lost ship, while Vance admits the government has known of Cybertronian technology since 1947. Barricade reports Prime's arrival to Starscream, who detects the buried ship beneath the western United States, where an unidentified Decepticon begins to awaken. | ||||||
