Development[edit | edit source]

Mob Productions had announced a deal with Squared Media and Mojang in June 2017 to produce, finance, and distribute several films based on the game and Squared Media content with a focus on Steve Stonecutter. By February 2018, screenwriter and director Freddie Goodwin and producer/director Jackson Greene were working on a television series based on the video game adapting storylines from Squared Media.

Appearances[edit | edit source]

Steve first appeared in Minecraft Season 1 and will return in Minecraft Season 2. In the Craftinverse, Steve appears in the main series Minecraft and will appear in two upcoming miniseries Detective Derp and The Nightingale.

  • The Nightingale is focused entirely on Alex Stonecutter; Steve will appear in 3 of 10 episodes.
  • Detective Derp is a second series focusing on Derp. Steve will appear in one of the 6 episodes.

Fictional character biography[edit | edit source]

Minecraft Season 1[edit | edit source]

Steve Stonecutter, also known simply as Steve, is a central figure in a vast multiverse saga that spans across a myriad of dimensions, including the Overworld, the Nether, and the End. Twelve years into their journey, Steve and his sister, Alex Stonecutter, have faced numerous challenges and enemies, including the mysterious and malevolent doppelgänger known as "the glitch," which mirrors Steve's every move, and a host of dimensional hostiles like Zombies, Skeletons, and Spiders.

Steve's journey is marked by encounters with allies and foes alike. He befriends Derp, a member of the Good Justice Society (GJS), who reveals their battle against the Angel of Death (AOD) and other threats from the Nether. This alliance leads to a confrontation where Steve, Alex, and Derp triumph over the AOD, only to face greater dangers ahead.

Haunted by visions of his evil twin, Steve's struggles become increasingly internal, affecting his progress. Despite these challenges, he remains committed to protecting realms like Diamond Hill Village from imminent threats, demonstrating his resilience and capability as a leader and warrior. His victories, however, are often tempered by hints of greater forces at play, suggesting a complex network of enemies and conspiracies against him and his allies.

Steve's legacy is further complicated by the figure of Herobrine, a glitch resulting from the world's creation, who harbors a deep hatred towards Steve. This entity, along with villains such as Null, Entity 303, Warewolf, and Reaper, represents the darker aspects of the multiverse that Steve must confront. Despite these challenges, Steve's journey is one of heroism, marked by significant victories, including defeating the Wither and the End Dragon, although these victories often lead to more complex and dangerous situations.

Steve's relationship with his sister, Alex, and allies like Derp, Nova, and Jerry the wolf, underscores the themes of loyalty, friendship, and sacrifice that permeate his adventures. His battles against Herobrine and other entities not only test his physical strength but also his moral convictions and his will to protect those he cares about.

As Steve navigates the treacherous landscapes of the multiverse, his story evolves from one of survival to a deeper exploration of power, responsibility, and identity. The emergence of Stevebrine, following a confrontation with Herobrine, signals a transformative moment in Steve's journey, blending elements of his past with the ominous realities of his present and future challenges.
