Season chronology

The first season of the American action and adventure television series Zombies, which is inspired by the Call of Duty mode of the same name, premiered on YouTube on November 16, 2027.

The season follows Requiem Division as they battle the resurging influence of the Foldpoint across collapsing dimensions, uncovering the origins of the Dark Aether and its connection to Samantha Voss. As Commander Sergei Ravenov, Amira Holt, Dr. Elias Byrne, and new operative Raya confront the aftermath of the Los Cielos reactor and a string of Aether outbreaks across the globe, they encounter remnants of Helix Division, spectral echoes of erased timelines, and the long-lost Edward Richtofen, who warns of a greater dimensional threat known as the Echoverse. Their mission takes them from frozen Antarctic ruins to the irradiated depths of Chernobyl, where reality itself begins to fracture. When the Dark Aether’s sentient network, the Line, threatens to consume all existence, Raya sacrifices herself to merge with its core, erasing the Fold and restoring the world—leaving Requiem disbanded and the fate of Samantha Voss uncertain.

The series was renewed for a second season.

As Requiem battles through collapsing tunnels and flooded districts, they discover a massive reactor—the Ecliptic Core—feeding on human consciousness to reawaken the dead. Helena admits she has been controlling the reactor, believing it to be the key to coexistence with the Dark Aether. Elias redirects its energy into a containment loop while Amira leads the evacuation. The reactor collapses, consuming Helena and purging the city in a burst of violet fire. From their extraction chopper, the team watches as Los Cielos sinks into the earth, faint Aether light flickering across the skyline as Samantha Voss’s voice echoes through the radio: “You closed the wrong door.”

Months after the Los Cielos incident, Requiem traces residual Ecliptic Core energy to an abandoned Antarctic research base, Facility K-23. Sergei Ravenov, Amira Holt, and Dr. Elias Byrne lead a strike team to investigate, finding the complex buried beneath ice and filled with frozen corpses of scientists who died decades before the outbreaks. Logs reveal Project Cryostasis, a Helix Division program to weaponize suspended Aether matter. Amira triggers a thaw sequence, releasing crystallized undead entombed since the first Dark Aether incursion. Byrne discovers the reactor contains a corrupted Foldpoint shard feeding on thermal energy, destabilizing the region. Amid collapsing tunnels and freezing storms, Ravenov experiences a vision of Samantha Voss, warning that “the ice remembers.” Byrne uses a refitted Rift Stabilizer to seal the breach, collapsing the facility into the subglacial trench. As Requiem escapes, a blue glow emanates from the ice, and a faint heartbeat echoes from deep below before the transmission cuts out — marking their last known contact from K-23.

Weeks after contact is lost with Facility K-23, Requiem intercepts a distress signal from a Helix Division mining hub in the West African desert. Sergei Ravenov, Amira Holt, Elias Byrne, and new operative Raya investigate, discovering a landscape of blackened glass surrounding a towering obsidian spire. Inside, Helix staff are found petrified mid-motion, fused with Aether crystal. The team encounters the Speaker, a masked entity that claims to be the echo of the Foldpoint itself. As seismic tremors intensify, they learn the spire is a living structure feeding on electromagnetic resonance to form a new rift conduit known as the Obsidian Gate. Raya experiences a vision of a future Earth consumed by crystalline revenants, leaving her marked with pulsating obsidian veins. Elias rigs plasma charges to destroy the structure, triggering a meltdown that collapses the Gate and engulfs the valley in black glass. Before the transmission ends, the Speaker’s voice echoes through all channels: “The dawn does not end the night — it begins it.” Back at Requiem headquarters, Raya’s scans show Aether activity identical to Samantha Voss’s, suggesting the Foldpoint’s consciousness has taken root within her.

Months after the Obsidian Gate incident, Requiem tracks synchronized dark energy surges across Europe, echoing the Foldpoint’s pre-collapse signature. The team—Ravenov, Amira, Elias, and Raya—heads to the irradiated ruins of Chernobyl, where Helix remnants have reactivated a pre-war bunker known as Helios Vault. Deep inside, they find a reactor chamber pulsing with Dark Aether light and a man thought dead: Edward Richtofen. He reveals that he sent the signal, warning of an older dimensional force he calls the Echoverse. With him are spectral companions—Tank, Nikolai, and Takeo—remnants of erased timelines. When containment fails, Aether plasma floods the Vault, triggering Raya’s obsidian infection to react violently, briefly revealing alternate realities where Requiem never formed and Samantha Voss commands an Aether army. Richtofen stabilizes the rift by sacrificing his spectral allies, who dissolve in light. As the Vault collapses, he teleports the team beneath Prypiat and admits the Fold was never destroyed, only rewritten. After Richtofen’s disappearance beneath Chernobyl, Requiem establishes a temporary base within the irradiated exclusion zone. As electromagnetic storms sweep across Eastern Europe, Ravenov, Amira, Elias, and Raya are sent to trace the source of the interference, suspected to be tied to the data key Richtofen left behind. Beneath Prypiat’s metro tunnels, they discover a vast Aether growth entwining Soviet trains and communication hubs, forming a pulsating network that emits fragmented human voices. Decoding the key, Elias reveals it as a multidimensional signal map labeled Cycle End / Alpha-0, directing them to the Duga Array—site of a defunct Requiem project known as Project Echo, created to weaponize Foldpoint echoes as temporal beacons. When the Array reactivates, ghostlike reflections of soldiers, civilians, and fallen Requiem agents manifest, trapped between timelines. Raya glimpses Richtofen’s distorted image gesturing toward the reactor ruins. As Aether mutants swarm, the Array overloads, collapsing timelines around them. Realizing the storms are synchronized attempts by the Fold to rewrite history, Amira channels the Array’s energy into a reverse surge, cutting the Fold’s link to reality. Months after the events in Prypiat, Earth is destabilized by fractures left behind from the collapsing Fold, with regions phasing in and out of existence. Requiem, nearly disbanded, reunites after intercepting a distress signal from Samantha Voss embedded within a Dark Aether transmission originating beneath Berlin. Ravenov, Amira, Elias, and Raya descend into an abandoned monorail network, now transformed into a sentient conduit known as the Line—a vast Aether rail system linking every breach ever opened. As they traverse its tunnels, the team encounters spectral echoes of their past and fragments of Richtofen’s voice leading them toward the structure’s core. Elias determines that the Line functions as a containment loop, designed to preserve collapsing realities within a single continuum. At its center lies the Echo Nexus, an obsidian core pulsing with the energy of consumed worlds. Raya’s infection begins resonating with the Nexus, revealing her as the Fold’s anchor—a living key capable of stabilizing or erasing existence. Samantha appears, urging Raya to merge with the Nexus to rewrite the cycle. Despite Ravenov’s protests, Raya accepts, sacrificing herself as the Fold implodes, erasing all Aether traces from Earth. In the aftermath, Requiem disbands. In the final scene, Amira walks through a sunlit, abandoned train station, hearing Samantha’s faint whisper: “The line never truly ends.”
