The 2027 IDF World Darts Championship is an upcoming professional darts tournament scheduled to be held from 10 December 2026 to 7 January 2027 at Alexandra Palace in London, England. It will be the fifth edition of the IDF World Darts Championship organised by the International Darts Federation and the fifth consecutive edition to be held at Alexandra Palace.
The tournament will feature 96 players, a reduction from the record 128-player field used for the 2026 edition. The top 32 players on the IDF Order of Merit will be seeded and enter the competition in the second round, while the remaining 64 players will begin in the first round.
The total prize fund will remain at $5,000,000, with the champion receiving $1,000,000 and the IDF World Trophy.
Logan White is the defending champion, having defeated Max Mad 7–6 in the 2026 final to win his first IDF World Darts Championship title.
Overview
The International Darts Federation was founded in 2022 to provide an expanded professional pathway for players outside the established Professional Darts Corporation system. The organisation placed particular emphasis on players from Australia, New Zealand, Asia and other regions where casual and semi-professional competitors had limited access to major professional tournaments.
The inaugural 2023 IDF World Darts Championship was staged at Alexandra Palace in London. The venue has remained the permanent home of the championship and will host the competition for a fifth consecutive year in 2027.
The 2026 championship introduced an expanded 128-player format in which every player, including the 32 seeded competitors, entered in the first round. Following a review of the tournament schedule, the IDF elected to restore a 96-player field for the 2027 championship.
Under the revised system, the top 32 players on the IDF Order of Merit will receive automatic entry into the second round. The remaining 64 places will be divided equally between the IDF Tour Order of Merit and international, regional and development qualification routes.
Defending champion Logan White will enter the tournament as the number one seed. Alex Brow will be seeded second, while 2026 runner-up Max Mad will enter as the third seed.
Format
All matches will be played using the traditional 501 scoring format. Players must reduce their score from 501 to exactly zero, with the winning dart required to land in a double segment or the bullseye.
Matches will be contested in sets. Each set will be played as the best of five legs, meaning the first player to win three legs will win the set.
The 32 seeded players will receive byes into the second round. The 32 IDF Tour qualifiers and 32 international or development qualifiers will begin in the first round. Each first-round match will feature one IDF Tour qualifier and one international or development qualifier.
The first and second rounds will be played as the best of five sets. The third and fourth rounds will be played as the best of seven sets. Match lengths will increase to the best of nine sets in the quarter-finals, the best of eleven sets in the semi-finals and the best of thirteen sets in the final.
In the deciding set of every match after the first round, a player must win by two clear legs. If the deciding set reaches 5–5, a sudden-death leg will be played. There will be no additional throw for the bull before the sudden-death leg.

Ranking
The IDF Order of Merit is calculated using prize money earned in ranking tournaments over a two-year period. Prize money remains on a player's ranking for 104 weeks before being removed.
Players who competed in the 2025 IDF World Darts Championship will therefore be defending the prize money earned at that tournament. Following the completion of the 2027 championship, prize money earned during the 2027 event will be added to the rankings and prize money from the 2025 championship will be removed.
The top 64 players on the IDF Order of Merit following the tournament will receive a one-year extension to their IDF Tour Cards. Players who earned two-year Tour Cards during the 2026 season will enter the second year of those cards in 2027.
Players in the final year of their Tour Card who finish outside the top 64 will lose their professional status unless they otherwise qualify for a new card. Their ranking totals will subsequently be reset to $0. The same rule will apply to non-Tour Card holders who earned ranking prize money through open qualification.
Prize money
The total prize fund will remain at the record level of $5,000,000 introduced for the 2026 championship. Despite the field being reduced from 128 to 96 players, the champion's prize will remain at $1,000,000.
All 32 seeded players will be guaranteed at least $40,000 after receiving entry directly into the second round. First-round losers will receive $15,000.
The champion will also receive the IDF World Trophy.
| Position (number of players) | Prize money

Qualification
A total of 96 players will compete in the championship.
The top 32 players on the IDF Order of Merit following the final ranking event of the 2026 season will be seeded and enter the tournament in the second round.
The next 32 available players from the 2026 IDF Tour Order of Merit will qualify for the first round. They will be joined by 32 international, regional and development qualifiers.
Each first-round match will feature one IDF Tour qualifier and one international or development qualifier. The winner will advance to face one of the 32 seeded players in the second round.
