The Zerra Halo 13 is a smartphone developed and marketed by Zerra Technologies. It is the thirteenth-generation flagship Halo device, succeeding the Zerra Halo 12 and announced on October 18, 2022. It launched later that month and transitioned to USB-C charging standard.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
The Halo 13 was developed during Zerra’s transition away from the long-standing Z-Port connector, with USB-C introduced as the new universal standard. It shipped with ZerraOS 12 and later gained upgrades to ZerraOS 14 and ZerraOS 15, introducing Adaptive UI, Horizon AI features, and more advanced Zerra Share capabilities.
Design[edit | edit source]
The Halo 13 introduced a slightly larger 6.3 inches (160 mm) display, thinner bezels, and a flat-edge aluminum frame. Its design built on the Halo 12 while adding a more symmetrical camera module, distinguished by a triangular lens arrangement. It was offered in four finishes: Onyx Black, Pearl White, Crimson Red, and Ocean Blue.
Specifications[edit | edit source]
Hardware[edit | edit source]
The phone is powered by the Z-Core Quantum SoC with 8 GB of RAM. Storage options started at 128 GB, going up to 1 TB. Its 4,500 mAh battery supported 35 W wired charging and 10 W wireless charging.
Display[edit | edit source]
The 6.3 inches (160 mm) Eclipse Infinity OLED panel offered 120 Hz refresh, HDR10 certification, and a peak brightness of 1,400 nits.
Cameras[edit | edit source]
The rear triple-camera system featured a 108 MP wide, 12 MP ultrawide, and 12 MP telephoto with 2× optical zoom. It introduced improved NightVision imaging algorithms for low-light photography. The front camera was a 20 MP sensor housed in a punch-hole cutout.
Software[edit | edit source]
The Halo 13 launched with ZerraOS 12, featuring expanded widgets, smoother animations, and enhanced Zerra Pay security. Later updates to ZerraOS 14 and ZerraOS 15 brought Adaptive UI and Horizon AI enhancements.
Reception[edit | edit source]
The Halo 13 was praised for its strong performance, versatile camera system, and refined design. Critics welcomed the switch to USB-C, though some criticized Zerra for limiting wired charging speeds to 35 W compared to rivals. Its 108 MP main sensor was considered one of the best in its class at launch.
