ShooterofIO is a first-person shooter video game franchise published by Mob Productions that began in 2023. Originally developed by SOI Studios, the franchise later expanded into a multi-studio series with Air Studios joining development in 2024 and Blackline Studios in 2026. The series consists of interconnected premium titles, free-to-play experiences, and live-service content spanning multiple sub-series and gameplay styles. The most recent installment, ShooterofIO: Modern Ops 2, was released on November 3, 2025, while the next mainline entry, ShooterofIO: Dark Warfare II, is scheduled for release in 2026.

The franchise initially centered on grounded modern military warfare, beginning with ShooterofIO 1: Modern Ops and the battle royale title ShooterofIO: Wargrounds, both released in 2023 by SOI Studios. The success of these titles established the foundation of the series' shared progression systems, seasonal content model, and large-scale online multiplayer focus. SOI Studios later developed Modern Ops 2 (2025), which expanded the franchise with a more advanced near-future setting, larger multiplayer experiences, and the cooperative Missions mode.

In 2024, Air Studios introduced the darker and more experimental Dark Warfare sub-series with Dark Warfare. Set within a dystopian future defined by advanced military technology, neural warfare, and supernatural phenomena, the sub-series incorporated cinematic storytelling, large-scale multiplayer, and the franchise's Zombies experience. Its sequel, Dark Warfare II, is scheduled for release in 2026.

The franchise further expanded its free-to-play ecosystem with Wargrounds 2.0, released on November 22, 2025. The title rebuilt the original battle royale experience with larger-scale environments, revised movement systems, new progression features, and extensive integration with premium ShooterofIO releases through shared operators, weapons, and seasonal content.

ShooterofIO 1: Modern Ops (2023)

ShooterofIO 1: Modern Ops is a 2023 first-person shooter video game developed by SOI Studios, and published by Monsteristic. It is the first entry in the Modern Ops sub-series and the first installment in the overall franchise. The game was released on November 10, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Modern Ops features a realistic and modern setting. The story follows multi-national special operations unit Task Force 161 tracking down Vladimir Makarov, a Russian ultranationalist and terrorist planning to trigger a third World War. The game's multiplayer includes sixteen maps, with at least twelve new maps planned for inclusion post-launch. A open-world mode called Operations was included at launch featuring gameplay mechanics regarding extraction based survival and Zombies. Modern Ops was integrated with ShooterofIO: Wargrounds (2023) and features various new features and innovations.

ShooterofIO: Modern Ops 2 (2025)

ShooterofIO: Modern Ops 2 is a 2025 first-person shooter game developed by SOI Studios and published by Mob Productions. It is the third installment in the franchise and the sequel to ShooterofIO 1: Modern Ops (2023). Modern Ops 2 was released on November 3, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.

Set several years after the events of Modern Ops (2023), Modern Ops 2 takes place during a pre-war period and features a campaign that combines parkour sequences, environmental puzzles, and side objectives across both confined maps and larger open-ended combat missions. The multiplayer mode introduces revised map design, with eight maps available at launch and more than thirty weapons included. In addition to the core modes, the game includes a cooperative mode titled Missions, comprising twelve original levels that can be completed to earn in-game rewards. As with its predecessor, the game is accompanied by a free-to-play experience, ShooterofIO: Wargrounds 2.0, released on November 22, 2025, as a standalone title; it was discontinued in March 2026, with its Battle Royale mode subsequently integrated into Modern Ops 2.

Dark Warfare sub-series

ShooterofIO: Dark Warfare (2024)

ShooterofIO: Dark Warfare is a 2024 first-person shooter game developed by Air Studios and published by Monsteristic. It is the second main installment in the franchise and the first entry in the Dark Warfare sub-series. Initially announced as ShooterofIO 2 in December 2023, the final title was confirmed by Air Studios in March 2024. The game was released worldwide on October 12, 2024, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Set during the Gulf War in the early 1990s, Dark Warfare is a first-person shooter developed by Air Studios and published by Monsteristic. The game features a semi-linear campaign structured around narrative "Acts", with missions incorporating branching objectives and large-scale combat scenarios across the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Multiplayer introduced several new gameplay systems for the franchise, including the "Gunsmith" customization feature, expanded killstreak options, and a revised perk system. At launch, the game included sixteen multiplayer maps and a cooperative round-based Zombies mode supporting up to four players across two maps.

ShooterofIO: Dark Warfare II (2026)

In 2025, Air Studios released ShooterofIO: Dark Warfare, their first ShooterofIO game of the main series. Air Studios and SOI Studios signed a contract that the producer of each upcoming title in the series would alternate between the two companies. In 2026, Blackline Studios announced they were working on a main series title for the franchise scheduled for 2027.

ShooterofIO: Wargrounds (2023)

ShooterofIO: Wargrounds was a free-to-play battle royale video game developed by SOI Studios for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is a part of 2023's ShooterofIO 1: Modern Ops, 2024's ShooterofIO: Dark Warfare, but does not require purchase of any parent title. It was introduced during Season 1 1: Modern Ops content. The game features cross-platform play.

Wargrounds was officially revealed by Monsteristic on June 10, 2023 to be releasing on December 6, 2023 alongside the first season of ShooterofIO 1: Modern Ops, as part of a single cross-game launcher known as ShooterofIO HQ. A successor, Wargrounds 2.0, was confirmed to be released in 2025.

ShooterofIO: Wargrounds 2.0 (2025)

ShooterofIO: Wargrounds 2.0 was a 2025 free-to-play first-person shooter game developed by SOI Studios and published by Mob Productions for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. It is a successor to 2023's ShooterofIO: Wargrounds and a component of ShooterofIO: Modern Ops 2 (2025), but won't require purchase of the parent title. Wargrounds 2.0 itself is free to download and does not require purchase of any of the parent titles. It was introduced during Season 1 of Modern Ops 2 content. The game features cross-platform play.

Development of the game began in April 2024, following the cancellation of the original version by Mob Productions. The project was restarted as a new edition designed to allow easier integration with other titles in the franchise. Wargrounds 2.0 was released on November 22, 2025. The game was shut down on March 28, 2026, though the Battle Royale mode was moved to Modern Ops 2.

ShooterofIO: Mobile (2025)

ShooterofIO: Mobile is a free-to-play first-person shooter developed by Supreme Studios and published by Mob Productions for mobile and handheld platforms. Designed as a standalone entry within the franchise, the title adapts the series’ gunplay and progression systems for touch-based devices while supporting cross-progression with the unified ShooterofIO HQ profile. The game was released worldwide on November 28, 2025.
