The untitled ShooterofIO game, currently under the codename Cerberus, is an upcoming first-person shooter game developed by Air Studios and published by Monsteristic. It will be the third installment in the ShooterofIO series and will be released in 2025.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Cerberus will be a first-person shooter game.
According to rumors, the game will include a shorter single-player campaign mode, with a multiplayer component as-well. A Zombies mode has been found in the files, suggesting the game features the cooperative Zombies mode.
Development[edit | edit source]
As of August 2024, the game, codenamed "Cerberus" has been reported to be in various stages of "development hell" with it currently having no lead developer. Reports of the 2025 game surfaced in 2023 alongside the Modern Ops III leaks, however at the time, it was originally believed to being developed by Air Studios, however in early June 2024, Air Studios left the project whilst suggesting they support ShooterofIO: Dark Warfare 6 (2024) for a second full year, though the suggestion was declined.
Cerberus was at that stage believed to be cancelled and SOI Studios 2026 title would be pushed forward to fill the 2025 timeslot, however Monsteristic pubically stated the timetable hasn't changed and a game, developed by War Games and SOI Studios, would be made for 2025. More reports surfaced following that announcement suggesting Air Studios would take over for the post-launch period of Cerberus.
According to War Games' director Jeff Williams, the studio had no choice in what they wanted to do, and was preasured into working on the 2025 game, instead of them being allowed to focus all their efforts into their own game for year 2027. SOI Studios' director, Freddie Goodwin, added that they all will do their "best work" to ensure this game is designed to quality standards.
Leaks from August 2024 suggest that the game would feature a cooperative Zombies mode.
Early gameplay details from YouTubers[edit | edit source]
In July 2024, MrDalekJD, who has high knowledge of first-person shooter video games and works closely with the studios who develop the ShooterofIO games. According to his video regarding the leaks, and what he is allowed to reveal, he stated the next game will include a mix of each studios fan favorite features and systems, and according to Monsteristic, the next game will be the biggest and most ambitious installment in the franchise, coming short of ShooterofIO: Dark Warfare III (2015). Dalek also stated that all the current rumors are not entirely true and that Air Studios is currently in talks with Monsteristic about the project and how they will be part of it.
