Summary[edit | edit source]

The opening day of the 2025 IDF Newcastle Masters featured a lively crowd and several tight contests. Top seed Alex Brow survived an early scare from Aiden Brooks in a 6–4 win, while eighth seed Mason Owens and fourth seed Luke Littler also advanced in style. The night’s major upset came when defending champion Max Mad was edged out 6–5 by Theo Bartlett, who averaged 99 and sealed victory with a 158 checkout. Elsewhere, Lukas Parker impressed with a 6–4 win over Callum Fraser, and Jamie Rees booked his place in the last eight with steady finishing.

Quarter-finals[edit | edit source]

Day two delivered a thrilling mix of top-class performances and shock breakthroughs. Alex Brow maintained his composure to overcome Mason Owens 8–5, while Rik van Doren edged Luke Littler 8–7 in a high-quality contest that featured both players averaging over 100. Surprise packages Theo Bartlett and Lukas Parker both continued their remarkable runs — Bartlett defeating Jamie Rees 8–6 and Parker surviving a tense decider to knock out Ethan Steel 8–7. Their victories guarantee that at least one unseeded player would reach the final, marking one of the most unpredictable IDF tournaments to date.

Semi-finals[edit | edit source]

Semi-final night saw another blend of power scoring and tension in Newcastle. Alex Brow outlasted Rik van Doren 10–8 in a battle of consistency, hitting six 180s and finishing with a 103.8 average to reach his third consecutive final. In the other semi-final, the fairy tale continued for Theo Bartlett, who stunned Lukas Parker 10–7 with a composed performance and timely finishing on double 10. Bartlett, who knocked out Max Mad and Ethan Steel earlier in the tournament, advanced to his first major final and became the first qualifier to reach an IDF Masters final.

Final[edit | edit source]

The final delivered a thrilling conclusion to four days of high-quality darts. Qualifier Theo Bartlett completed his dream run by defeating world number one Alex Brow 11–9 in a tense and emotional encounter. Brow led 7–5 at one stage, but Bartlett rallied with a string of 14 and 15-dart legs to turn the match around, sealing victory on double 12 with a 102.6 average. The victory marked Bartlett’s first professional title and one of the biggest upsets in IDF history, propelling him into the global spotlight and shaking up the early-season rankings.
